Grandpa Ivan, who in the first “Krashanka” planned to launch a rocket at the Kremlin, returns. Now he has a more serious plan: to build a time machine and try to change history. While his invention tests the strength of his own family, the Ukrainian comedy “Krashanka 2.0. Quantum Paradox” is preparing for its Israeli premiere.
In Ukraine, the film will be widely released on October 8, 2026. Israeli viewers will see it less than a month after the Ukrainian premiere.
In the first part, there was a rocket aimed at the Kremlin. Now — a time machine.
In 2024, director Taras Dudary presented the comedy “Krashanka.” Its main character is Ivan Andreevich Zabyaka, a retiree from the Kharkiv region, played by Stanislav Boklan. After the start of the Russian invasion, grandpa decides that waiting for victory is not enough and begins to restore an old missile launcher to strike the Kremlin.
It is at this moment that his adult children and grandson come to visit him for Easter. Instead of a peaceful family holiday, it turns into a story about war, mutual grievances, old conflicts, and a rather dangerous hobby of grandpa.
For Israeli viewers, it is worth explaining the title itself. The Ukrainian word “krashanka” means a painted Easter egg. The first film was built around a family gathering for Easter — a holiday that has great family and cultural significance in Ukraine.
In the sequel, Ivan Zabyaka changes the direction of his experiments. His new invention is the Quantum Paradox Machine, hidden in an old minibus. With this unusual transport, grandpa and his family embark on a journey where the past may turn out to be no less unpredictable than the future.
Behind all the fantasy lies a very earthly story. Relatives try to find common ground, overcome accumulated grievances, and deal with the consequences of war. There will be many jokes and incredible adventures, but the creators promise moments where viewers will find it hard to laugh.
Boklan, Zhurakovska, KOLA, and the world boxing champion
The director of the sequel is again Taras Dudary. The production was handled by Mamas Film Production with the support of the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinema. The film’s duration is about 94 minutes.
Returning to the role of inventor Ivan is Stanislav Boklan, one of the most famous Ukrainian theater and film actors. His daughter Olga is played by Olesya Zhurakovska, Anna by Darya Legeida, Yaroslav by Vladimir Gladky, and grandson Mishko by Mikhail Pulyansky. The cast also includes Artur Logai and Lyudmila Zagorskaya.
But the authors decided not to limit themselves to familiar characters.
The film features singer KOLA (Anastasia Prudius), a popular Ukrainian performer, choreographer Alyona Shoptenko, and Denis Berinchyk, a former WBO lightweight world boxing champion. Berinchyk plays himself, and one of the scenes with his participation unfolds in a boxing ring.
An unusual cast was formed: professional actors, musicians, a dancer, and a world-class athlete meet in one family comedy.
Why “Krashanka 2.0. Quantum Paradox” appears in Israel

The Israeli premieres are organized by “Znyato v Ukraini” / Created in Ukraine — a company that has been distributing modern Ukrainian cinema in Israel since 2022. Its program has already included “Mavka,” “Dovbush,” “Pamfir,” “20 Days in Mariupol,” and many other films.
NANovosti — News of Israel | Nikk.Agency previously reported on the September screenings of the comedy “Train ‘Chervona Ruta'” in Tel Aviv and Haifa. At that time, Created in Ukraine brought another Ukrainian story related to music, family relationships, and an attempt to restore lost closeness.
“Krashanka” has a completely different plot, although the question is similar: how can a Ukrainian family maintain relationships when the war has changed everyone’s life?
For Russian-speaking Israelis, Ukrainian cinema is also interesting for the opportunity to see modern Ukraine beyond the daily military reports. To look at its humor, language, family traditions, and the ability to laugh even at the most difficult circumstances.

In the meantime, you can rewatch the first “Krashanka” and remember how grandpa Ivan’s story with the rocket ended. After all, in the second part, he aims at the very course of history.
And who knows, maybe the main task of his time machine is not to fix the past, but to help loved ones finally hear each other.
