On September 6, 2024, reservists from the Israeli army's Yiftach Brigade conducted a training exercise simulating combat in Lebanon to improve Israel's preparedness for threats on the northern border, The Times of Israel reported. During the exercise, the troops practiced combat, maneuvering in difficult terrain, moving along a “mountain route,” and using firepower in various situations. According to the IDF, the rifle brigade's soldiers also trained in evacuating the wounded during combat.

Journalists noted that the exercises were the latest in Israel's preparations for a potential war in Lebanon. Earlier, Hezbollah, based in Lebanon, clashed with Israel. Israeli government spokesman David Menser said the terrorists had suffered a “crushing blow” from Israel, but noted that the situation on the northern border remained “volatile.”
