The Israeli army has stopped a United Nations convoy in the Gaza Strip over concerns about the presence of Palestinians, Reuters reports.
The Israeli military announced on Monday that it had detained UN vehicles in the northern Gaza Strip, citing intelligence that the convoy may contain several “Palestinian suspects” whom the soldiers intend to interrogate.
“We emphasize that this is not a convoy carrying polio vaccines, but a convoy whose purpose is to exchange UN personnel. The incident is not over yet,” an Israeli army spokesman said.
