Arab media reports that a large group of Yemeni (Houthi) troops were spotted in the town of Al-Bukamal in Syria on the border with Iraq.
According to a report by the Syrian opposition channel Syria TV, they were moving towards the south of Syria, towards the border with Israel. The Houthis plan to cooperate with the intelligence services of Syria and Lebanon, as well as with Hezbollah. They will receive intelligence from them, and from Iran via Iraq – military equipment and ammunition. Earlier, the Houthis conducted training, practicing attacks on Israel and landing a naval assault.
“The stupid Zionist enemy is expecting our response from the air, but has completely forgotten that there is a ground response,” wrote Hizam al-Assad, a member of Yemen's Supreme Political Council, on the social network “X” on August 3. The Houthi defense minister issued threats against Israel, warning of surprises. A surface-to-surface missile was fired from Yemen at Israel a few hours before today's attack (September 15).
Nasr al-Din Amar, deputy head of the Houthi propaganda department in Yemen, commented on the shelling of Israel: “The air defense systems failed, and the Yemeni missile reached us. The enemy's rear was vulnerable to us. The future holds many things. Wait for a statement from the armed forces.”
An air raid siren was sounded in central Israel at half past six in the morning. Nine people were injured while running for shelter despite interceptor missiles. A Yemeni rocket exploded in an open area despite all security measures.
The Hetz missile defense system was developed in Israel in response to the Iranian missile threat. The Iranian Tufan missile is a modernized version of the Shahab-3 Iranian ballistic missile, which in turn is a version of the Chinese Dongfeng-21 missile. The missile is capable of flying about 2,000 kilometers and causing massive damage.
