An Iranian official claims that Iranian troops could be stationed in Lebanon and the Golan Heights to confront Israel, similar to the events of 1981. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was also reported to have been moved to safety following the Beirut strikes and was calling on all Muslims to “stand up against Israel.” The Iranian embassy in Beirut called the strike on Nasrallah a “game changer” and promised to respond.

According to Reuters, Iranian authorities are in constant contact with Hezbollah and its supporters to decide on further actions. The Israeli army confirmed the killing of Nasrallah in a strike on Hezbollah's headquarters in Beirut, calling him “responsible for terrorist attacks around the world.” The Hezbollah headquarters in Beirut was hit on September 27, and after that contact with Nasrallah was lost, and conflicting information arose about his fate.
