An agent from Iran took part in preparing the liquidation of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who passed information about their location to the Israeli side.
According to Le Parisien, a double agent was infiltrated into Hezbollah structures and reported plans for Nasrallah and other group commanders to meet at an emergency meeting. Having received the information, the Israeli military dropped six air bombs on the premises where the group's leaders had gathered.
Media reported the discovery of Nasrallah's body at the site of an airstrike in Beirut – he likely died from injuries caused by the explosion. The Israel Defense Forces officially announced this on the morning of September 28.
The US is reportedly recommending that Israel refrain from a ground operation in Lebanon after the defeat of Hezbollah due to attacks by the Israeli army. Iran threatened to send its troops to Lebanon in opposition to Israel.
