The Israeli Defense Minister announced the beginning of a new phase of the war against Hezbollah.

WP reported that Israel warned the United States of its intention to conduct a limited ground operation in Lebanon. This became known from a report by The Washington Post.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said the next phase of the war against Hezbollah will begin soon, allowing residents of northern Israel to return home. He also noted that the Israeli military plans to shift its focus to the north and destroy military infrastructure along the border to ensure the safety of Israelis.
Israel has warned the United States of its intention to carry out an operation in Lebanon that will be smaller than the war against Hezbollah in 2006. The purpose of the operation will be to eliminate the threat to border communities in Israel. The operation is planned to begin soon.

Note that, according to an unnamed American official, the upcoming operation will be aimed at destroying military infrastructure along the Lebanese border in order to prevent a threat to Israeli border communities. The US also deployed additional forces to defend Israel.
