The UN Security Council condemned Israel's plans to ban UNRWA.

The agency's commissioner general expressed the importance of its work in these regions, accusing Israel of interfering by threatening to revoke the status of millions of Palestinians. Great Britain and the Russian Federation also criticized this issue, accusing Israel of violating international norms.

A British spokeswoman called on Israel to lift restrictions on goods in Gaza to prevent looting. Vasily Nebenzya accused the Israelis of sabotaging UN resolutions on the Palestinian issue. Israel's permanent representative argued that indifference to Hamas would allow aid to go to those in need, not to terrorists, and called for continued operations in Gaza until goals are achieved.
