The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed outrage at the shelling of Israeli military positions in Lebanon, which affected the UN peacekeeping contingent.
UN peacekeepers filed a complaint about Israeli shelling, which resulted in the wounding of two personnel. Moscow demands that the Israeli military refrain from “hostile actions” against peacekeepers.
It is interesting that the Russian Foreign Ministry had not previously expressed indignation at the actions of Hezbollah, which is shelling Israeli populated areas. Israel asked the peacekeeping contingent to leave the combat zone, but they refused, not following the instructions of the Israeli government.
Thus, the UN command exposes ordinary peacekeepers to danger in order to accuse Israel of international crimes.
