Israel and the United States are planning to deploy the THAAD missile defense system on Israeli soil in preparation for a possible conflict with Iran. THAAD is designed to intercept medium- and long-range ballistic missiles during the terminal phase of their flight.

THAAD has previously deployed to Israel in exercises, but this will be the first operational deployment.

The US has agreed to cooperate with Israel on defense and is negotiating the use of THAAD and Aegis to strengthen air defense. So far, support for offensive operations has been refused. Israel is preparing a potential response to possible Iranian actions, coordinating its steps with the United States, and is considering military options against Iran's strategic targets. No decision has been made yet.

At the same time, the United States is seeking to negotiate with its Middle Eastern allies to provide airspace for possible attacks on Iran. The UAE, Qatar and Bahrain have not yet agreed to this. Growing tensions in the region require careful consideration of the actions of all parties and the search for a diplomatic solution.
