North Korea's special forces are a mystery to Western states.

South Korean intelligence reported the transfer of 1,500 North Korean troops from the DPRK Special Operations Forces to Russia. The Telegraph calls them one of the most secret units in the world.

The DPRK MTR numbers 200 thousand people and was created in the late 60s to test the defense of South Korea. Their weapons and equipment are considered the best in the country, but primitive by world standards. Experts rate them 5 points out of 10.

The DPRK MTR consists of 12 light infantry brigades, three reconnaissance units, three airborne divisions and three sniper units. According to rumors, they participated in supporting the Syrian dictator, but there are versions that they were just mercenaries. The West fears the possible involvement of the North Korean military in the conflict with Ukraine.

France and the US Congress expressed concern and called the participation of North Korean troops a “red line”.
