In the Middle East, Lebanon needs $250 million a month to help more than a million people displaced by Israeli attacks. Environment Minister Nasser Yassin noted that current government and international aid efforts cover only 20% of needs, and the number of refugees is growing.

The crisis response team, which involves various ministries, the UN and the Lebanese Red Cross, plans to begin humanitarian operations only in a few months. However, Yassin stressed that assistance is urgently needed for food and basic needs, calling attention to the inadequacy of current efforts.
