Israel has recorded some of the highest levels of air pollution in the world in recent days due to dust storms blowing in from North Africa. Thick clouds of dust blanketed cities across the country, with Tel Aviv particularly affected, which is second only to Beijing in terms of air pollution.

The Israeli Ministry of Health has issued a warning to citizens, especially people with heart disease, pregnant women, children and the elderly. It is recommended to avoid strenuous walks and other outdoor activities due to high pollution, which can worsen respiratory and cardiovascular problems.

Air pollution levels are expected to decrease in the near future and the situation in the country will return to normal once the dust clouds clear.
