Katz was told that the measures taken are not yet sufficient, and it is important to really improve conditions for civilians in Gaza, including the transfer of trucks with humanitarian aid.

The US Secretary of Defense called on Katz to bring up the issue of improving the situation in Gaza for discussion in the Israeli cabinet. In response to accusations of obstruction by Hamas, Israel said it was ready to help those in need and work with Arab countries to effectively deliver humanitarian aid.

The US is demanding a range of measures from Israel, including increasing daily truck movements, opening a fifth border crossing and implementing a humanitarian ceasefire, as well as allowing the movement of residents.
