A senior Hamas official said he was ready for a ceasefire as long as Israel adheres to it. He also called on US President Donald Trump to put pressure on Israel to stop the fighting in the Gaza Strip. In turn, Hamas demanded that Israel withdraw all military units from Gaza as a prerequisite for the release of the hostages.
At the same time, it became known about the death of a Hamas financier in an Israeli prison. Samih Alivi, responsible for the financial portfolio of the organization, died in prison. He was accused of laundering money transported from Jordan through the sale of jewelry and gold. Another Hamas representative, Anwar Salim, also died in prison.
Such events only aggravate the tense situation in the region and require an immediate solution to prevent further escalation of the conflict. Efforts at the international level are necessary to find a peaceful solution and reduce tensions between the parties.
