Israel plans to completely withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon and deploy a contingent of the Lebanese National Army there. According to a morning report by the KAN Hadashot channel, this became one of the points of the upcoming ceasefire agreement, which should contribute to stability in the region.

One of the key points of the agreement is the granting of expanded powers to the Lebanese Army in southern Lebanon. This will help it control borders and prevent arms smuggling, as well as prevent the creation of new terrorist structures in the region.

However, some aspects of the agreement are controversial. In particular, Lebanon objects to the involvement of the United States in guaranteeing the implementation of resolution 1710, preferring a more traditional approach involving a tripartite commission of UNIFIL, Israel and Lebanon.
