The political leadership of Hamas has moved from Qatar to Turkey, sources confirmed. Qatar has temporarily refused to mediate the fire talks in Gaza, inviting Hamas to look for another haven since their offices in Doha are no longer needed.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry has not officially announced the expulsion of Hamas, so the exact reasons for the move to Turkey are unknown. Hamas itself has rejected rumors of a refusal of hospitality, calling them a pressure tactic. Authorities discussed possible solutions to the hostage crisis, acknowledging the failure of the previously proposed plan.
The former general proposed a radical plan to free the hostages, including a blockade and expulsion of part of the population of Gaza. The “cleansing” operation in the northern regions became a pretext for blocking humanitarian supplies, but did not lead to the desired results. The plan for a final solution to the crisis remains unclear.
