US Special Envoy Amos Hawksteen announced Israel's preliminary approval of a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Israel is still awaiting final approval of this decision. Hawksteen warned that the US could end mediation if Israel does not agree to a ceasefire soon.
Negotiations on this issue are being conducted constructively on the Lebanese-Israeli border, and it is planned to discuss the terms of the agreement in Israel.
The agreement provides for a 60-day transition period, after which there will be a ceasefire and Israeli troops will gradually withdraw from Lebanon, where the Lebanese army will be deployed in their place with the support of UN peacekeeping forces.
