Assad did not want to repeat the fate of Yanukovych, but “circumstances forced him”

10 years ago, Bashar al-Assad was sure that he would not have to flee Syria, but on December 8, 2024, he arrived in Moscow and received “humanitarian asylum.” In 2014, he assured that he would not repeat the fate of Yanukovych.

According to the chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, the Syrian leader had no intention of leaving. However, events did not develop in his favor, and he was forced to leave the country after the defeat of the Syrian army.
