Israel's Attorney General has decided to stop making out-of-court deals in espionage cases for Iran due to the increasing number of such cases.
Now the investigative authorities must complete all investigations without agreeing to admit the guilt of the suspects. Lawyers for one of the arrested asked for a court deal, but were refused by supervisory authorities.
One of the detainees, Moti Maman, visited Iran and agreed to carry out a terrorist attack at the request of Iranian intelligence agents. The prosecutor's office has already brought charges against seven Israeli citizens for espionage and aiding the enemy during hostilities.
