The IDF carried out a daring commando operation against an underground factory set up by Iran under the guise of a “research center” in the Syrian province of Hama. This happened in September, long before the overthrow of the Assad regime during the war with Hezbollah.
According to the KAN Hadashot channel, special forces operated at a distance of 200 km from Israel at two sites – in a “research center” where work was being done to create high-precision missiles, and in an underground factory.
Israel launched the operation after intelligence discovered the movement of components for the production of missiles in Masyaf. The concern is the possibility of mass production of missiles just 65 km from the Lebanese border, which could strengthen Hezbollah's missile capabilities.
