Israel introduces new rules for tourists. From 1 January 2025, all visitors will be required to obtain an ETA-IL electronic entry permit. It will cost 25 shekels or $7 per person and is valid for up to two years or until the expiration date of the passport. The permit application must be submitted several weeks before travel. ETA-IL will allow you to stay in the country for up to 90 days, after which you will need to extend your stay.
To obtain a permit, you need to provide personal data, travel information and passport details online. You will also need to attach a photo with a clear image. Dual citizens will be able to visit Israel using their foreign passports until December 31, 2025, after which they will also need an ETA-IL.
Those wishing to visit Israel must be prepared to pay for a permit, apply in advance and have a passport valid for at least six months. It is important to remember that having a permit does not automatically guarantee entry into the country. If it is necessary to extend the period of stay, tourists must contact the Israeli Population and Immigration Authority.
