Shabas warns that there are not enough places in Israeli prisons

The Israeli Prisons Authority has reported a shortage of places in correctional facilities. Due to the lack of proper conditions for keeping prisoners, up to 2,000 places cannot be used.

Shabash appealed to the Ministry of Finance with a request to allocate 240 million shekels to create the necessary infrastructure.

The number of available places in Israeli prisons has fallen critically after the mass arrest of Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.

After arresting between 240 and 400 terrorists, additional support and funding was needed. The need to expand prison infrastructure has become urgent to solve the problem of overcrowding in institutions.
