The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed dissatisfaction with the decision of the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia to recognize the statehood of Palestine. The ministry believes that such actions will contribute to the destabilization of the region and reduce the chances for peaceful negotiations.
The official statement of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs was posted on social network X on September 21, 2025.
Criticism of the Declaration
The statement emphasizes that this decision does not contribute to the peace process.
“This declaration only exacerbates the situation, undermining the possibilities for reaching a compromise,” the text highlights.
The Israeli ministry noted that the recognition of Palestine will become “an encouragement for one of the largest massacres of Jews since the Holocaust, organized by a terrorist organization whose goal is the destruction of Israel.” Moreover, such recognition contributes to the strengthening of support for Hamas.
Lack of Progress
The ministry also pointed out that the Palestinian administration has not fulfilled any of the requirements put forward in the framework of peace negotiations.
“The Palestinians have not ceased incitement and the policy of ‘pay for slay,’ nor have they taken any measures against terrorism,” the ministry stated, noting that this was confirmed by recent findings of rockets near Ramallah.
Call to Action
At the end of the address, Israel urged the countries that recognized Palestine to focus on putting pressure on Hamas, demanding the immediate release of hostages and the laying down of arms.
On September 21, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia officially recognized the independence of the Palestinian state.
