President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on several international negotiations concerning energy in his evening address on October 11.
International Negotiations and Support
Zelensky noted that detailed work is being done with partners to ensure the necessary support. Additional negotiations are planned in the coming days. Discussions include equipment that is being accumulated in reserve for winter and used in communities, as well as financial assistance. Special attention is given to air defense systems that provide protection and the need for missiles for these systems.
The President also mentioned the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the group “Hamas,” expressing the opinion that Russia is trying to take advantage of the fact that world leaders are focused on ending the conflict in the Middle East.
Global Challenges and Russian Threat
According to Zelensky, Russia continues to seek opportunities to intensify strikes, especially when the world’s attention is diverted. He emphasized that Russia remains the last source of full-scale war.
The President expressed hope for continued pressure and support from the United States and other partners. He received signals that America is considering opportunities to strengthen cooperation. There was also a conversation with the Prime Minister of Canada, during which Ukraine’s needs for air defense and energy support were discussed.
PURL Program and International Cooperation
Zelensky noted the success of the PURL program, which allows the purchase of American weapons, including missiles for “Patriots.” He expressed gratitude to NATO partners and hoped for expanded participation from Canada.
The President coordinated contacts with other world leaders and gave necessary instructions to the military, the Office of the President, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasizing that results must be achieved.
Earlier, Zelensky had a conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, discussing the latest Russian attacks on energy and support for Ukraine.
