The signing of the peace agreement by the leaders of the USA, Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt opens a new chapter in the history of the Middle East. This document, aimed at ending the Arab-Israeli and Palestinian-Israeli conflicts, offers a vision of a future where peace and prosperity become a reality. The active phase of the war in Gaza is over, but tensions in the region remain.
New Plan and Its Implementation
The agreement is based on Donald Trump’s twenty-point plan, which covers the transformation of power in the Gaza Strip and the disarmament of Hamas. The concept of “two states” comes to the forefront again, offering a prospect for the future of the region. Hamas, in turn, has expressed readiness to follow this plan, although there remains room for interpretation.
The presence of Mahmoud Abbas at the summit emphasized the legitimacy of the Palestinian partner. The creation of an executive government is expected soon, which will be a step towards normalizing the situation in Gaza. Hamas continues to patrol the streets, which is agreed with Trump to prevent chaos.
Hostage Exchange and Political Maneuvers
The plan for the release of hostages, proposed by Hamas a year ago, has finally been implemented. Israel, under pressure from the USA, agreed to this after a year of war and losses. Among the released Palestinians are Hamas supporters and detainees without charges. However, Marwan Barghouti remains in custody, partially satisfying Hamas’s demands.
The Role of Trump and Netanyahu’s Mistakes
Donald Trump can consider this agreement his victory, skillfully formulating a plan that satisfied all participants. Benjamin Netanyahu’s mistakes, including withdrawing from the ceasefire agreement and public calls for radical actions, played their role. These steps led to a decline in Israel’s image and jeopardized economic interests.
Geopolitical Consequences
The peace plan affected international relations, postponing the Russian-Arab summit in Moscow. This indicates a decrease in Russia’s influence in the Middle East. For Ukraine, the situation opens up new opportunities. The end of the war in the region may contribute to advancing its interests and drawing attention to its own issue.
The end of the conflict in the Middle East is not only a step towards peace but also an opportunity for other countries to reconsider their positions and strategies. In this context, Ukraine can benefit by promoting the idea of peace through strength.
