The Central District Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against a Bnei Brak resident suspected of spying for Iran. He was preparing an assassination attempt on a major nuclear scientist at the direction of Iranian intelligence services. The suspect took photographs of the scientist's house and car, sending the pictures to Arabs in East Jerusalem who were also arrested for espionage.

According to the indictment, the main accused Rami Alian was activated by an Iranian agent through Telegram. He handed over photographs of the closed Weizmann Scientific Institute in Rehovot. The suspects, detained while preparing an assassination attempt on a nuclear scientist, were believed to be armed and ready to commit a crime. They were detained by police special forces several weeks ago.
