The Israeli military is expanding its military bases in the Gaza Strip to create a buffer zone, The New York Times reports.
Published satellite images show the occupied territories of Gaza, occupied by the IDF. In central Gaza in particular, the Israeli military is consolidating its presence, increasing the number of military bases and destroying Palestinian buildings.
The authors note that this may indicate Israeli plans to establish long-term control over the region. According to satellite imagery by observers, there are at least 19 large bases and many smaller installations belonging to the IDF in the area.
