During a meeting between US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House, a number of Putin's threats about a possible escalation of the conflict due to Ukraine's use of Storm Shadow missiles were refuted. Biden stressed that he does not attach much importance to the Russian president's statements and dismissed speculation about a possible NATO war with Russia.
Biden avoided detailed comments on possible arms supplies, noting that these issues are being discussed at government level. Starmer also stressed that “Putin” bears responsibility for a possible armed conflict and expressed support for Ukraine's right to self-defense. Discussions between the leaders concerned the situation in the aforementioned countries and regions.
According to Western sources, London and Washington have reached a temporary agreement on Ukraine's use of long-range missiles, but no official statements have been made on the matter yet. Further consultations on the subject are not ruled out in the future.
During the meeting, Biden and Starmer also discussed issues related to Ukraine, Israel and cooperation in the field of technology.
