According to the agreement, the truce between Israel and Hezbollah will take effect on Wednesday, November 27, at 4 a.m. local time. Approval of the agreements was received from the Israeli government, although the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ben-Gvir, expressed his dissatisfaction.
The agreement does not contain clauses on the disarmament of Hezbollah and a ban on its fighters living in areas of southern Lebanon. The conflict began on October 8, 2023, following Hamas attacks in Israel.
Israel retains the right to take immediate action in the event of a violation of the agreement by Hezbollah. Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked US President Biden for participating in the negotiation process and helping to reach a peace agreement.
