Airlines began resuming flights to Israel after the end of hostilities with Lebanon. Wizz Air will resume flights from December 20, Aegean Airlines – from December 10, and AZAL has already started operating flights to/from Israel. According to the Voice of Israel Telegram channel, the stabilization of the situation was the reason for the return of international flights to the country.
With the restoration of stability and the cessation of shelling, air travel may return, but the process will be gradual. Experts believe that flight volumes will not reach previous levels in the near future. The topic of restoring flights is being discussed against the backdrop of negotiations on an agreement with Lebanon that could lead to an end to rocket attacks.
Lufthansa and other airlines are extending their suspension of flights to Israel. Lufthansa and its subsidiaries have canceled flights until the end of December. The decision comes amid widespread cancellations of international flights to Israel and will require time to restore normal operations. LOT from Poland has also delayed the resumption of flights to Israel until December 17, with plans to consider flights after this date.
