An Israeli army sergeant was killed by rocket fire from southern Lebanon.

The IDF press service announced the name of a soldier killed in a rocket attack on the village of Avivim from southern Lebanon. Sergeant Ariel Sasonov, 20, from Jerusalem, was a member of the NAHAL engineering unit.

Information about the death of the soldier was conveyed to his family, and the IDF expressed condolences to the relatives of the fallen man.
