Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad has taken all his family members abroad due to the rapid advance of the opposition. The regime of Bashar al-Assad is collapsing, his army is scattering, surrendering cities and villages to the militia.

Information about this appeared in The Wall Street Journal. Bashar al-Assad remains in Damascus for now, preparing his remaining units for the defense of the capital. However, his family is already abroad. According to rumors, Assad’s wife and children left for Russia, and his sons-in-law went to the United Arab Emirates.

At the end of November, Assad flew with his family to Moscow, where, according to rumors, he asked Russian President Putin for help, but did not receive it due to Russian forces being bogged down in the Ukrainian war. Assad's key allies no longer believe in his ability to maintain power and have refused to help.

Russia and Iran began evacuating Syria, and most of the ruling nobility had already fled Damascus. Opposition forces are advancing rapidly and control about 40% of the country.
