US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday called on Israel and Hamas to end the fire in Gaza and conclude a truce. According to the official, the agreement is already 90% ready. The call was made by Blinken during a press conference. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke about this in an interview with Fox News, believing that the deal is not yet ready.

The United States is working to resolve differences between the sides, including the deployment of Israeli troops on the border with Egypt. Blinken also expressed confidence that Netanyahu could reach an agreement with Saudi Arabia.

Both sides have responded to the American proposal, but no agreement has been reached yet. Israel continues to conduct operations in Gaza, which resulted in the death of two Palestinians. The incident occurred in Jenin, according to an article dated August 28, 2024. Another persistent disagreement is Netanyahu's position on military bases on the border with Egypt.

Blinken's call for a ceasefire comes amid recent activity in Gaza, where the bodies of six hostages have been found. Meanwhile, Netanyahu continues to insist a deal is not imminent, rejecting a US official's assessment of 90% readiness.
