An anti-tank missile hit the Israeli Kibbutz Manara area on the morning of September 19, 2024, leaving eight people injured, two of whom are in serious condition. Six of the victims with light and moderate injuries were taken to the Ziv Medical Center in Safed, and a rescue helicopter was used to evacuate the seriously ill.
The incident was caused by a rocket attack from Lebanon, for which Hezbollah claimed responsibility. The warning system failed to work in this case, which led to tragic consequences. In response to the shelling, Israeli forces opened artillery fire on the source of the rocket threat.
According to preliminary information, all victims were in the kibbutz area for rest and relaxation. An investigation and operational measures are currently underway to neutralize the threat from armed groups on the border with Lebanon.
