Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in his address to the participants of the Crimean Platform, stressed that Crimea must be returned to Ukraine in accordance with international norms. He supports the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine, condemning the annexation of the peninsula by Russia, which has exacerbated the suffering of the Crimean Tatars who survived the deportation.

Erdogan noted that Turkey continues to pay special attention to the well-being of the Crimean Tatars, advocating for their right to a free and safe life in their homeland. He expressed joy at the release of the deputy chairman of the National Assembly of the Crimean Tatars and hopes for the speedy release of all those illegally detained.

The president expressed hope that the war in Ukraine would end with a just peace based on respect for Ukraine's territorial integrity. Earlier, Israeli Foreign Minister Katz reacted sharply to Erdogan's statement about the “threat of expansionism” from Israel, accusing the Turkish leader of inciting violence and supporting Hamas.
