Hamas and Fatah have reached an agreement on civil administration in Gaza, a Hamas source told Qatari outlet Al Arabiya. Hamas has agreed not to control the crossings, and another meeting with Fatah is expected to resolve the situation. Various options for governing the strip are currently being discussed, including the establishment of a technocratic government endorsed by both organizations.

Palestinian factions held a reconciliation dialogue in Beijing from July 21 to 23, where the “Beijing Declaration on Reconciliation Dialogue” was signed. Among the issues discussed was the creation of a local governing body composed of independent figures, as well as the possible formation of a local governing body under the current PA government. Representatives of various factions, including Hamas and Fatah, support the dialogue and reconciliation initiative.
