ICC Ends Case Against Ismail Haniyeh Over Death

On September 7, the International Criminal Court in The Hague decided to close the trial against Ismail Haniyeh due to his death. The request for Haniyeh's arrest was withdrawn due to a change in circumstances. However, the case against Mohammed Deif, the head of Hamas' military wing, was not closed due to a lack of evidence of his death.

The chief prosecutor was unable to confirm the information about Deif's death and withdraw the motion against him. Therefore, the court did not decide to terminate the criminal case against this person. This is probably due to insufficient evidence about his death and elimination by Israel.

Hamas thus remains the focus of the court's attention, despite the current situation with the death of the head of the Politburo. The details of the case remain unclear, and the investigation continues to work to establish the facts.
