International police organization Interpol has issued an arrest warrant for 23-year-old Jonathan Emmanuel Cardon Castillo, leader of the extremist Jewish group Lev Tahor. He is wanted in Guatemala on charges of human trafficking, rape and abuse of minors, Interpol says.

Castillo is a citizen of Guatemala and El Salvador and speaks Hebrew and Spanish. Earlier, Guatemalan authorities took action after reports of violence in the Lev Tahor sect community. As a result of the search, 160 minors and 40 women were detained, and the bones of a child were found.

The Lev Tahor sect, founded in the 1980s in Israel, is widespread in various countries. Her practices include wrapping women in cloth from head to toe and encouraging early marriage for young girls. Members of the sect expressed a desire to move to Iran and destroy the “Zionist entity.”
