Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the UN General Assembly, declaring that Tehran was ready to end its nuclear standoff with the West and calling for an end to the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East through dialogue.

“We are ready to cooperate with the participants of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) if the commitments are implemented fully and in good faith. Dialogue on other issues can take place after that,” Pezeshkian said in his first address to the UN General Assembly on September 24, 2024.

Pezeshkian also commented on relations between Iran and the West, noting the deterioration of the situation after the Hamas incident in southern Israel on October 7, 2023, and Iran's support for Russia's war against Ukraine. He called for an end to military action in Ukraine and expressed hope for soft sanctions and a new global paradigm that focuses on opportunities.

Pezeshkian also sharply criticized Israel for its actions in Gaza and drew attention to the need to immediately stop this situation.
