Israel is open to ideas, preferring a diplomatic solution to the conflict with the terrorist group Hezbollah, while a senior US State Department official has outlined possible ideas for resolving the situation in the region to avoid escalation.
Israel's UN ambassador supported these ideas, stressing that the Lebanese government and people should put pressure on Hezbollah to stop its aggression and restore peace. Israel has launched an operation against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, recording hundreds of strikes on their targets, launch pads and terrorist infrastructure.
In the past 24 hours alone, the Israeli Air Force has carried out some 1,600 strikes on Hezbollah targets, the most since the Second Lebanon War in 2006. Hezbollah has also reportedly carried out rocket strikes on Israeli targets, including the Megiddo military airfield and Ramat David airbase, further raising tensions in the region.
