Israel has allowed the use of electric quad bikes in the suburbs.

The Ministry of Transport has approved the use of electric quad bikes, known as tractorons. Amendments have been made to the transport regulations, allowing owners to insure them and travel on the roads under the general rules for vehicles with internal combustion engines of up to 1,500 cc.

The electric quad bike can now carry a driver and a passenger without the need for a towbar. These changes open up new possibilities for using tractorons for a variety of purposes, including leisure and entertainment, not limited to agriculture.

Previously, electric ATVs were illegal due to the lack of a corresponding legal status and did not fall under the category of tractor-tons with internal combustion engines. Their use could lead to serious consequences, including criminal liability. Therefore, the new rules open up new opportunities for owners of electric ATVs.
