Israel is negotiating with Hamas about a “humanitarian deal” to free some of the hostages. The plan is to release women, the sick, the wounded and the elderly in exchange for a truce and the withdrawal of the IDF from part of the sector. However, work is underway to increase the number of hostages being released.

Prime Minister Netanyahu met with representatives of organizations that unite the families of the abducted. He said that the government is ready for the deal and the chances of its success are high. Netanyahu supports a ceasefire in Gaza and believes the approach that worked in the north will work in the south.
