Israeli rabbi's body found in UAE after anti-Semitic terrorist attack

On November 24, 2024, the body of Israeli-Moldavian rabbi Zvi Kogan was discovered in the United Arab Emirates, the office of the Israeli Prime Minister reports. He had been missing since Thursday. The office said in a statement that Kogan's murder was a criminal anti-Semitic terrorist attack.

Zvi Kogan lived in the UAE as an emissary of the Jewish organization Chabad-Lubavitch and worked to improve the lives of Jews in the country. Israel has strengthened its call to avoid travel to the UAE and gatherings associated with the Israeli and Jewish population.

The Israeli government warned citizens abroad about possible attacks by Iranian militants. The Emirates Foreign Ministry said the country is “closely monitoring the case” and is “in close contact” with the family of the deceased Rehavin Zvi Kogan.
