Lawyers have denied Sara Netanyahu funding for the repair and maintenance of her swimming pool.

For months, the Prime Minister's wife Sara Netanyahu sought government funding to renovate and maintain a swimming pool at her Caesarea villa. However, after appealing to the government's legal adviser, her request was denied. Legal adviser Gali Baarav-Miara supported the decision to deny funding for the pool.

Following a new law passed in February 2023, the Netanyahu family was able to approve applications for funding their expenses without additional procedures. The director general of the Prime Minister's Office, Yossi Sheli, approved the application for the renovation and operation of the pool. However, this caused indignation in the office, the story leaked to the media, and ultimately legal counsel Baarav-Miara canceled the funding for the pool.

Sara Netanyahu is not going to give up and continues to fight for the right to have the pool financed by the state. However, the official opinion of legal advisers confirmed that the law in Israel does not grant privileges to the prime minister's family regarding residential expenses.
