According to information reported by Reuters, the United States has made a proposal for a unilateral ceasefire with Israel in Lebanon. However, outgoing Prime Minister Naguib Mikati's cabinet spokesman denied the claim. Instead, the US called on Lebanon to declare a unilateral ceasefire with Israel to resume talks between Lebanon and Hezbollah, which had stalled.

US envoy Amos Hochstein asked Lebanon for a unilateral ceasefire with Israel this week, agency sources said. However, Prime Minister Mikati's office denied this information, noting that no such request had been made. According to the press service of the head of the Lebanese government, the government's goal is a bilateral ceasefire and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
