Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced measures taken by his government to stop Israeli aggression in the country. Mikati also noted the importance of the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
The Prime Minister stressed that to ensure long-term stability in southern Lebanon, full implementation of the resolution is necessary, including the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the southern regions and their occupation by the Lebanese army. He also mentioned negotiations with US representatives and announced his intention to comply with established international norms.
In developments, it is noted that Israel, believing that it has achieved significant results during the military campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon, is seeking to conclude a peace agreement that will stop the fighting. In turn, a senior Iranian official announced a possible response to the Israeli attack on Iranian territory before the US presidential elections on November 5.
