A survey conducted among evacuated residents of the north revealed alarming results: a third of them are unemployed, and 70% are experiencing a decrease in income.

“This is not just a personal crisis, but a significant national economic problem that will affect the Israeli economy for decades to come.”

Almost 70% of those evacuated from settlements on the border with Lebanon are considering not returning home. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by the Maagar Mohot Institute commissioned by the 121 association and the 7.10 initiative group to find work for evacuees.

Only those who worked before the war took part in the survey, and 67% of them worked full-time, another 20% part-time, and 13% earned their living as individual entrepreneurs. A year after the start of the war, their situation worsened sharply: only 39% work full-time, 17% work part-time, and 10% remain entrepreneurs. Almost a third – 32% – do not work at all.
