Amid the Israeli president's call for a national unity government, a poll was conducted on the possibility of forming a new cabinet with the current Knesset. The majority of citizens spoke in favor of holding new elections rather than forming a new coalition with Benny Gantz and Yair Lapid.
The survey found that 43% of respondents support early elections, while only 19% are ready to see Gantz and Lapid in the government. A question on who would be preferred as prime minister showed Naftali Bennett leading the poll with 40% support.
Opinions were almost evenly divided between Netanyahu and Yair Lapid, but most respondents did not consider either of them fit to lead the country. In a hypothetical vote for the US presidential election, Israelis would choose Donald Trump by a wide margin over Kamala Harris.
