Netanyahu decided to return to Israel quickly and even flew out on Saturday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to urgently return home from New York and took off at 03:00 Israeli time, despite Saturday. His decision was prompted by an attack that he learned about during a briefing at the UN General Assembly.

The attack, which took place in Beirut and targeted Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, killed 14 people and wounded 50 others. Although Nasrallah himself survived, he was reportedly injured in the attack.

Israel told the Americans about the upcoming attack in advance, but provided information about it only a short time before the attack began. The target of the attack was the central headquarters of Hezbollah in Dahiya, which, according to the head of the IDF press service, was hidden under residential buildings.
